Anna Spatafora

    I knew I wanted to be involved with Mr. Spartan when I first found out about it my freshman year, so I’m sure you can guess how excited I was when I found out I had been chosen to participate this year. My role as Treasurer in Mr. Spartan 2010 is a unique position. Although I don’t have a partner, I get to interact with all of the boys.  It’s my job to keep track of all the money we raise through our various events and money that the boys raise individually. I’m the only one who knows exactly how much are raising, but don’t even bother trying to ask me about it because I can’t tell you!

I’ve got a lot going on in my life besides Mr. Spartan this year. I am the catcher and captain of the CHS Varsity Softball team. Our team is gearing up for a strong season on our new field. I am also the president of Z-Club, the high school chapter of Zonta International, a service organization dedicated to bettering the lives of women and children. I love to knit and co-founded the CHS Knitting Club, which is making hats for the homeless and baby blankets for the Corvallis Pregnancy Care Center. In my “free time” I work at the First Alternative Co-op South Store and the OSU Sensory Lab.

Next year I will attend the OSU Honors College where I will major in Food Science and Technology. I will be participating in the Enology and Viticulture program, and to prepare I have been volunteering at Nuthatch Cellars, a local Corvallis winery.

Fun facts about Anna:

-I'm 3/4 Italian and 1/4 Cajun, so basically, the best food in Corvallis is at my house.

-I own over 30 pairs of shoes. Wil has nicknamed me Imelda Marcos. I don't think thats very funny... good thing he doesn't know how many scarfs and purses I have...

-I've been expelled from CHS 3 times for truancy. In my defense it was a long commute from Thailand, where I lived for 6 months. The funny thing was how many times I counted there.

-I sing in the CHS Concert and Jazz Choir. I'm a second alto, so I've been told I sing like a man, but just for the record, I don't sing as low Michael... but I am lower than Kipp ;)

-Whenever I'm sick all I want to eat is Taco Bell, even though I would normally never eat it. My mom thinks it's because that's all she could eat when she was pregnant with me.

-I have two dogs, Julep and Gunnar. They are Weimaraners, which are those dogs on Sesame Street that they dress up in clothes and use to spell out words. Mine can't do that...

-I have a sister named Gioia (Joy-uh) and a brother named Nick. I also have like 50 cousins, but I'm not going to list them all here.

-My favorite actress is Audrey Hepburn. I have all of her movies and a poster of her in my room. I also decided if I ever got into Roller Derby my name would be Audrey Hellburn. Now that I have the name, all I have to do is learn how to skate.

-I own a gorilla suit and a tandem bike. So far, I have not used them at the same time. Stay tuned.

-I put down my pacifier, learned to walk, and learned to talk all on my first birthday. It was a big day for me.
