When I was offered the opportunity to participate in the Mr. Spartan pageant, I could not pass it up. It was a chance to be involved in something bigger than myself; something that would be humbling and would help me become a more giving and caring person. It was a difficult decision because the pageant requires a great deal of commitment and I had already committed to the Corvallis High baseball program. I pitch and play first base for Varsity baseball and as you could imagine that is an enormous commitment. However, when given the chance to participate in Mr. Spartan I couldn't say no. I'm working very hard to balance my schedule and I know this experience in time management will prepare me for college.
Besides Mr. Spartan and baseball, I have had a busy senior year. I participated in the fall production of "Once Upon a Mattress" as Sir Harry. It was a new and wonderful experience, and allowed me to explore another world of performance. I am thoroughly involved in the CHS choral program and am in both in the Concert Choir and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble. I enjoy watching epic movies, some of my favorites are "The Mission" and "Lawrence of Arabia," and I am a sucker for botan rice candy. They're so good!

Hi! My name is Jacey. Mr. Spartan has become the pesky little brother in my life. He needs lots of attention and he won’t go away, but underneath it all, you love him a lot. I never thought that I would be allowed to be a Mr. Spartan senior girl and get to help out the Corvallis community in such a wonderful way!
I love being outdoors doing anything—running, skiing, climbing, biking, gardening, strolling. Absolutely anything. Except weeding dandelions. I am a varsity athlete in alpine ski racing and I also ran cross country for CHS, all four years for both sports. I’m a choir kid too, participating in school choir and Heart of the Valley choirs, plus the Unmentionables a cappella group! Next year, I plan on studying Environmental Science.
